Queens Park Rangers is a proud club, with a great history and a dismal present. QPR looked certain for relegation in the early months of the 2007/08 season, with a mediocre squad, an average manager and depleted bank accounts.
But then came Bernie Ecclestone, accompanied by other high-profile investors and turned Rangers into one of the richest clubs in England.
Rangers managed to avoid relegation, but nothing less than promotion will be acceptable in this season. Iain Dowie was brought in to replace Luigi De Canio and he will have to carry on this huge task.

Still, where there is money there is no peace and quiet and 15 matches into the season saw Iain Dowie sacked for... no real reason. Caretaker manager Gareth Ainsowrth will try to do better than him to have any chance to sign on permanent basis.

Bottom Line: With the backings of few of the richest men on earth, Queens Park Rangers have to win promotion. This is their only option.
